When a psychic tells Natalie Nixon her life is about to be upended by a mysterious stranger, she laughs it off. After all, she has everything she’s ever wanted—a successful bakery, a the perfect boyfriend, and the keys to her dream house.
Who could possibly make her want to throw all that away?
Then Miles Haas comes back to town.
But he’s no stranger—they’ve known each other since high school. Plus, he’s only around for the summer, he’s still a shameless playboy, and he makes a living writing articles for a men’s magazine with titles like ‘Should You Bang the Boss’s Daughter? A Flowchart’ and ‘Butt Stuff for Beginners: A Field Guide.’
He’s not the man of her dreams, and she’s not about to abandon everything she’s worked so hard for just for a little fun. Except he makes her laugh like no one else, smells like heaven, and looks sexy as hell in those panty-melting glasses.
Before I begin this review, let me start off by giving special thanks to the Gossip Girls PR Blogger Lounge for sending me this ARC! ❤
This is my very first Melanie Harlow book, but I can guarantee you that it will certainly not be my last!
Some Sort of Crazy is a hilarious and beautifully written contemporary romance novel. There were several funny parts of the book that had me laughing loudly in the middle of the night and other sweet parts that had me swooning over Miles.
I loved Natalie and her sisters! Their silly antics and conversations remind me a lot of me and my friends.
Natalie is a hardworking business woman who has been in a long term relationship since she was very young. Despite the fact that she’s been with Douchebag Dan (as Miles refers to him) for several years, their relationship has begun to become routine and lackluster. Actually, it’s been like that for a very long time.
There is nothing new or exciting about their relationship. They plan out every little event so there isn’t much room left for surprises or spontaneity. It is simply a comfortable relationship where Natalie knows what to expect and when to expect it. It’s a good thing, right?
Meh, not so much. Miles Haas, a childhood friend of Natalie’s, decides to come into town and visit her. Miles is, by far, one of my most favorite characters ever! I have officially laid claim to him. Back off slowly ladies!
He is a wild one for sure! He has spent the majority of his adult life being a playboy; jumping from one girl to the next with no intention of ever settling down. Miles is incredibly charming and funny. He enjoys having fun and not being tied down.
However, there is one girl that he would settle down for. There is only one girl that he would be willing to be loyal to…and that is Natalie. They have never been anything more than just friends, but she is all he thinks about.
There is one slight problem though: Douchebag Dan. Since he and Natalie have been together for so long, Miles has never really had much of an opportunity to act on his feelings. Well, except for that one night long, long ago.
Needless to say, he comes into town wanting to see her, but not having much hope that he can persuade her to leave Dan. As they begin to rekindle their friendship, feelings begin to be brought to the surface.
Natalie doesn’t understand why she’s so attracted to Miles and has to constantly remind herself of why she’s with Dan. On the other hand, Miles is just as confused. Didn’t he always want to have his share of random women? Why was he willing to change all of that for an unavailable friend?
I absolutely loved this story! It was everything I had hoped for and more! We get a dual POV from Natalie and Miles which made me develop a deep attachment to both main characters. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a fun, sexy and sweet romance!
Final verdict: 5 stars!
